The Grand Tour of Sicily by Bike
Many dream of cycling around Sicily. We did it in 7 days along the three main coastal roads:
- the SS113 Settentrionale Sicula on the Tyrrhenian coast (north)
- the SS114 Orientale Sicula on the Ionian coast (east)
- the SS115 Sud Occidentale Sicula on the Mediterranean coast (south, south-west)
Why did we do the tour of Sicily? Why not! How was it? Great! An unforgettable experience that one should do at least once in their lifetime.
Coastal views and deep blue sea everywhere: cycling around Sicily means that you are almost constantly surrounded by or very close to the blue waters of the Med. Savour Sicily’s ancient culinary traditions in tiny trattorias or in one of the many restaurants along the way. Ride across small fishing villages, along endless sandy beaches, pine forests and white cliffs, and at some point you’ll see the smoking summit of Mount Etna. Experience a vivid kaleidoscope of landscapes at every turn.
